APHC 2023 – Expanding Horizons of Palliative Care in the New Era
I would like to warmly welcome you to the 15th Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Conference, the biennial conference of the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network to be held in Incheon, Korea on October 3 – 6 , 2023. We are very grateful to have the Korean Society of Hospice and Palliative Care host this important event, the first time in 4 years that we are able to meet physically.
The theme of the conference is ‘Expanding Horizons of Palliative Care in the New Era’. Over the past few years, palliative care as well as much of the world has grappled with the Covid 19 pandemic as well as dealing with conflict and humanitarian catastrophes. The resilience of palliative care is apparent in how it has risen to meet the challenges that these situations bring. There has been developments in palliative care that will certainly be highlighted in the conference.
The Scientific Committee will be bringing together an exciting programme of plenary, symposium and workshop sessions that will showcase the expanding reach of palliative care, in the Asia Pacific region as well as the rest of the world.
In truth, the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Conference has always been about the people working in this field across the region – our network. Together with the scientific presentations, they have been the human connections and bonds that are built across institutions and countries. This is the time to renew and develop friendships. We have missed this very much in the last 4 years.
Together with our wonderful hosts, I would urge you to join me in Incheon, Korea to experience not just the wonderful Korean hospitality but also benefit from the academic and social experience that awaits us. Thank you.
